Tears rolled over the old man’s cheeks.
As I described the testimonies of Africans who suffer for their faith the Asian hub leaders in front of me could absolutely identify with them from personal experiences.
Several of them have spent time in prison for their faith, most have had run-ins with the police and some have suffered various forms of persecution. None of this has stopped them from serving God faithfully…
Herman and I were in one province to train leaders in the Phase D material – Old Testament Survey. This was the sixth training conference with the current group of leaders who came from several provinces. Herman shared each morning from the Word and the participants were visibly moved by his teaching.
Very early each morning I awoke to the sounds of the group singing and praying. Their cries for their nation deeply moved us and I believe moved Heaven itself. Their desire and passion to see people saved, churches planted and pastors trained is deeply moving. God is at work.
Already the number of churches being planted through the multiplication model we introduced three years ago is staggering! Soon every province will have a leadership structure that will train Hub Leaders to plant churches, train pastors and disciple new believers.
All too soon the training was over and we had to greet our dear brothers and sisters.
Since our training our dear brother Tom* came for a visit to South Africa. We were able to spend time planning for the future. Tom shared at some churches and other meetings about the difficulties of being a believer in Asia and especially the challenge that pastors face. He expressed his gratitude for the materials and training the Harvesters Family of Ministries provides and shared testimonies of the transformation it is bringing to churches in Asia. Pray for our Asian family.
