Opening the Way in Prayer

Praise God with us for the opportunity to be part of the National Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park, Esher today and tomorrow. Please continue to pray for vision and wisdom, and that the meaningful connections that are fostered during this time will continue to further His Truth in the United Kingdom and beyond.

Praise God with us for the opportunity to meet with partners in Naples, a city with over 2 Million people and a great need for true Christians and committed churches. We had our first session last night and got in contact with a community of pastors and leaders. As we continue to navigate the problems of the church and the solutions, based on the Scripture, we ask that you would keep praying for open hearts and a revival in Europe.

Last week in Guatemala City we finished the training of 41 pastors in Phase E (New Testament Survey) of the Harvesters Bible School Curriculum. It was a great blessing to work through the material and to see the pastors challenged by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to continue evangelizing, discipling and planting churches. Thank you for continuing to pray for us. May His Kingdom come and His will be done in Guatemala City.

3 October: In less than 1 hour, attendees of the training in Lamada, Simiyu region, have reached out to 276 people and 104 souls have been won to Christ. Praise God for the harvest! Please pray for the follow up and discipleship process by local pastors.

Harvesters is committed to placing God’s Word into the hands of every family being discipled in the churches planted through our ministry. Malawi, often referred to as the ‘warm heart of Africa,’ is home to thousands of our brothers and sisters who eagerly seek the Word of God. In partnership with Biblica, our teams are travelling to deliver around 10,000 Chichewa Bibles to hundreds of churches in this country. Please join us in praying for protection of our teams and for travel mercies. Pray also that God’s Word will continue to transform many lives in Malawi!

Harvesters is embarking on an exciting multi-year project to produce our entire Bible School Curriculum in video format for field use. These lessons will be recorded by native leaders in as many local languages as possible. Please pray for wisdom and perseverance to bring this initiative to life. Pray also for provision and a special anointing on each leader and trainer who will be dedicating time to record sections of the curriculum, as well as for the teams managing the technology and logistical support behind the scenes. Pray that these training videos will help impact many student pastors and communities around the world – all for His glory!

Please intercede for members of Harvesters’ leadership as they gather this week for strategic discussions and planning for the years ahead. Pray for their protection, for provision and that they will humble themselves before the Lord and that, through supplication, they will understand and have the courage to obey His instruction.

2 Cor. 10:15b-18:
… Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our sphere of activity among you will greatly expand, so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in someone else’s territory. But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

Harvesters’ Legacy Conference is an annual event held in South Africa where Harvesters Licensed Trainers (HLT’s) receive valuable training as well as feedback from the field. The conference presents the opportunity and calling to become involved in specific areas of the ministry. Pray that all attendees will remember what they heard from the Lord and that they will respond.

Our faithful leaders are on their way to Guatemala to continue Phase C training of our Harvesters Bible School curriculum. Please pray that God will bless the pastors coming for training as well as the team facilitating the training. Pray for travel mercies, protection and provision in whatever is needed to help expand His Kingdom. Continue to pray for the Church in Guatemala to thrive.

What’s Happening?

Our Student Pastors are challenged to plant a new church this weekend. This involves: Going to communities with no Christian presence, sharing the good news of Jesus’ precious gift of salvation, planting a church in that neighbourhood to disciple those who are saved and in persecuted nations, pastors will prayerfully evangelise to unbelievers. This is a bold step toward fulfilling our vision to see 1 million churches planted, 1 million pastors trained, and 100 million people saved by 2030. As our Student Pastors faithfully rise to the challenge, we are calling on you to cover them in prayer.

• Pray for Labourers: “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
• Pray for Boldness: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
• Pray for Open Hearts: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26)
• Pray for Protection: “The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
• Pray for Growth: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)
